Transport Officer

Department: Maintenance

The Role

The transport officer will be required to oversee fleet of around 80 vehicles and supervise Workshop staffs to ensure maintenance of fleet in a timely manner.

Main duties

  • Supervise workshop team to ensure maintenance is carried out on company vehicles in a timely manner.
  • Plan preventive maintenance and servicing on company vehicles.
  • Liaise and close follow up with external parties for major repairs as and when required.
  • Plan renewal of insurance covers, motor vehicle licenses and fitness in a timely manner to ensure compliance to Road Traffic Act.
  • Liaise with insurance company for processing of claims in case of accidents and ensure all relevant documents are sent in a timely manner to ease claim process.
  • Assist the Manager to prepare budget for maintenance, renewal of licenses and purchases of new vehicles on a yearly basis.
  • Conduct inspections on vehicles at regular intervals to flag damage, defects and other safety hazards.

Required skills / Qualifications

  • Diploma in Logistics & Transport Management or Mechanical Engineering
  • Holder of a Valid Driving License (Private Car).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar and/or supervisory role.
  • Able to multitask, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Possess analytical mindset and quick problem-solving skills.
  • Solid negotiation skills to deal with suppliers and contractors efficiently.
  • Sound knowledge of Road Traffic Act and other relevant laws and regulations.
  • Well versed with Ms Office and Outlook.
  • Able to work odd hours as and when required.
